“Since Giuliani’s “broken windows” policies were enacted, crime, public harassment, and safety drastically improved.”
Steven Rosenblum lives in Boulder, Colorado, is the Managing Director at the investment firm Gentrust, and is a member of the anti-homeless group Safer Boulder where he acts as a liason between the Boulder Police Department.
Update 8/17/2021: We have removed parts of this post pertaining to a Reddit account believed to be operated by Steven Rosenblum. But due to new evidence we are not confident in the connection. We have also added information about Steven Rosenblum’s Boulder City Council run.
Steven argues against affordable housing:
Steven also reveals he owns, redevelops, and operates Section 8 housing in Denver. It is not clear whether Steven does this solo or with GenTrust.
Xenophobia
Steven’s xenophobia about outsiders coming to destroy his town (that he himself migrated to not too long ago) has even extended to progressive Boulder City Council member Rachel Friend:
Steven even praises the racist and classist tactic of “broken windows” policing instituted in New York City in the 1990s by Rudy Guliani, which disproportionately targeted racial minorities for minor, non-violent offenses and paved the way for “stop and frisk” policies.
Boulder Police Liason
Steven operates as a liason between Safer Boulder and the Boulder Police Department. On September 25th, Steven coordinated with Will Frischkorn, the owner of Cured restaurant, to deliver lunch and dinner for the Boulder Police Department on behalf of Safer Boulder.
As a result, the chief of the Boulder Police Department, Maris Herold, wrote a personal thank you note to the anti-homeless group along with a Boulder Police Department badge.
Boulder Police officers Harold Salem, C. Donahue, “Jack”, Andy Mills, Jeremy Frenzen, and Cassandra Davick wrote thank you notes.
Steven responded to the officers with the following note:
Safer has apparently raised funds for more meals for the Boulder Police Department and is delivering another one on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020.
Steven Rosenblum is running for Boulder City Council with the endorsement of current council member Bob Yates and former council member Liza Morzel, both of him have been vigorously anti-homeless. The Steven Rosenblum for Boulder City Council website makes no mention of his involvement in Safer Boulder.
