Shari Roth lives in Boulder, Colorado, is one of the most active members of the anti-homeless group Safer Boulder, and acts as an intermediary to Boulder City Council member Bob Yates.
While Shari is one of the most active members of Safer Boulder, with over 500 messages logged, her posts are less openly violent and abhorrent than her peers. However, Shari does however does not push back on Safer Boulder’s calls or wishes for violence upon people experiencing homelessness.
Shari replied with a Thumbs Up emoji when Craig Books wrote about bears and mountain lions attacking a group of unhoused people who had recently been pushed out of Boulder’s downtown into a more remote area.
Shari also eggs on Todd Root’s transphobic remarks about non-binary member of the above camp with a Crying Laughing emoji.
Coordination with City Officials
Shari has spoken about and shared several communications with City of Boulder officials including Boulder City Council member Bob Yates and Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold. Shari is one of the vessels by which Safer Boulder influences and collaborates with the City of Boulder to enact their agenda.
On August 22nd, 2020, Shari says she spoke to Bob Yates about a homeless solidarity group called SAFE (who are a frequent subject of Safer’s contempt) and a homeless led protest movement called Occupy Boulder.
On September 2nd, 2020, Shari posts a screenshot received from Bob Yates about Boulder City Council’s decision making process and citizen engagement options.
On September 15th, 2020, Shari says she emailed Bob Yates about Safer Boulder member Elaine Danemiller address to council, then posted a screenshot of what appears to be text conversation with the politician where he says he sent her a ‘thank you’ note after her address.
Elaine Dannemiller thanking council for recent sweeps of homeless camps. "Being homeless is not a crime" but there is often "widespread criminal activity" in these camps, she says.

On September 24th, 2020, Shari spoke about a communication she had with Bob Yates in what appears to be some sort of coordination about opposing progressive City Council member Rachel Friend’s proposed emergency sanctioned homeless camp (which Yates is expected to oppose).
On October 2nd, 2020, Shari shared an email from Bob Yates where he explains the timeline Safer has to oppose Rachel Friend’s sanctioned camp proposal:
